Random shots from my weekend off (yay for the daddy and kids camping trip!): this is on H Street NE near my house. It's historic, yet still (STILL) recovering from riots in 1968. I felt like this shot was kind of fitting.

The fountain outside Union Station: this is the way I usually end up framing things. Kind of boring, but I'm not sure what to do differently.... I loved her expression and the contrast of the stone and the blue sky, but I'm not sure I got either....

This is a little different, but I'm not sure I like it better. Thoughts? (Also, I can't edit my photos at all until we make some room on the c: drive.... would have liked to lose some of that head room....)

This is our middle child, Eudora. She's probably the most cooperative person in the house when it comes to hamming it up for the camera. She's wearing a princess dress, carrying her Mary Poppins umbrella and making a face that is supposed to remind us all of Bert, the chimney sweep. I just kind of liked the way this picture turned out....
I really like the H Street star photo - very cool. As for the statue lady, I think the first picture is good. I like the angle of the second pic better in terms of her face, but then the background distracts you from her. It's so hard to get a really good picture - so many things have to align!
ReplyDeleteAnd I really like the one of Eudora, too. Great composition and lines with the fence and sidewalk creating a diagonal. I want to think more about lines in my photos...
